Warp Five: A Star Trek Enterprise Podcast

Apr 9, 2015

Terra Nova. An Episode Lost in Translation.

One of the main goals for Warp Five is to give our listeners a fresh and positive perspective on Enterprise. It is only journalistically responsible for us to not only discuss the "positive" elements of this series...but the "problematic" as well. To be sure, there were issues that plagued all four seasons of Enterprise ranging from poor writing to severe interference from the UPN and the powers that be, ultimately causing "uniquely memorable" moments to happen within this series. Terra Nova unfortunately was one of those moments and one of the most severe.

Terra Nova was listed on five different fan review websites that categorized and listed the "worst" episodes of Enterprise and of Star Trek. When I reviewed the sheer vitriol that Terra Nova suffered from online reviews, I was shocked, intrigued and bewildered that this episode was so poorly received. So...what happened? How could two veteran Trek writers in Berman and Braga just utterly and completely misfire? Pull up a chair and join us in The Conference Room for a fantastic, open and honest discussion of this very controversial episode!
