Warp Five: A Star Trek Enterprise Podcast (blu-rays)
Warp Five 78: The Decommissioning Enterprise BLUs

Enterprise Season Four a.k.a The Decommissioning Enterprise BLUs

Enterprise Season Four on Blu-Ray continues the visual extravaganza from Seasons One through Three, with breathtaking 1080p high-definition picture and 5.1 sound. The special features and bonus materials that were recorded specifically for this Blu-Ray set are, most notably, the best we have seen for any of the collections. The four-part "Before Her Time: Decommissioning Enterprise" and the 90-minute "In Conversation: Writing Star Trek: Enterprise" offer fans a deeper understanding of the bittersweet beginning of the end for Star Trek on television.

"Before Her Time: Decommissioning Enterprise” is however, the absolute MUST SEE special feature; not just for this collection, but for all four Blu-Ray sets. This in-depth documentary is 120 minutes of unbridled and unfiltered retrospectives, chronicling the final season of Enterprise. Join us in the Conference Room with our very special guest Larry Nemecek, as he reminisces about his experiences on-set for the final days of Enterprise and most importantly, the final moments of Star Trek on television and the end of a world-wide cultural phenomenon.

Warp Five 77: Singing the Gritty Xindi BLUs

Enterprise Season Three a.k.a The Gritty Xindi BLUs.

Enterprise Season Three on Blu-Ray continues the visual extravaganza from Seasons One and Two with breathtaking 1080p high-definition picture and 5.1 sound. Packed with a wealth of brand-new special features and bonus materials, the two exclusive documentaries that were recorded specifically for this collection are once again worth the price of admission. The 3-part "In a Time of War" and "Temporal Cold War: Declassified" offer fans a deeper understanding of the volatility and uncertainty surrounding Season Three.

The 3-part "In a Time of War" is the absolute MUST SEE for this Blu-Ray set. It is a 90 minute eye-opening retrospective of the overarching and darker tonal shift of Enterprise's Xindi Arc as Star Trek returns to relevancy in the post 9/11 climate. Most notably, this documentary heavily features Jolene Blalock in rare and incredibly candid interviews, where she truly opens up to the audience, discussing how getting Enterprise was huge for her, how she (a relative newcomer) was cast, and how she says she grew with show as an actor and as a person.

Warp Five 76: Singing the Sophomore BLUs

Enterprise Season Two a.k.a The Sophomore BLUs.

Enterprise Season Two on Blu-Ray continues the visual extravaganza from Season One, with breathtaking 1080p high-definition picture and 5.1 sound. This set is also packed with a wealth of brand-new special features and bonus materials. The most notable additions to this set are the two exclusive documentaries that were recorded specifically for this collection: The 3-part "Uncharted Territory" which explores the unyielding challenges of Season 2, and "In Conversation - The First Crew"; the unprecedented reunion of the entire Enterprise cast for the very first time since the show was canceled in May 2005.

The 3-part "Uncharted Territory" is a candid, raw, and visceral recounting of the relentless production challenges and struggles throughout the entirety of Enterprise's second season. However, the absolute MUST SEE for this Blu-Ray set is "In Conversation - The First Crew". In this feature, the entire cast reunites for the first time since the show's cancellation. This is easily the best feature in this set (and quite possibly in all of the four Blu-Ray collections) because each cast member had their opportunity to candidly and openly share their memoirs of the show, amidst some clearly unstated tension and emotions.

Warp Five 75: Singing the BLUs Part One

Enterprise Season One Blu-Ray Review.

Enterprise Season One on Blu-Ray is the visual extravaganza that finally offers the fans breathtaking 1080p high-definition picture and 5.1 sound. This Blu-Ray set is also packed with a wealth of brand-new special features and bonus materials. The most notable additions to this set are the two exclusive documentaries that were recorded specially for this collection: The "In Conversation" retrospective with Brannon Braga and Rick Berman and the three-part "To Boldly Go - Launching Enterprise" documentary. These exclusives alone are worth the price of the set!

The "In Conversation" retrospective with Brannon Braga and Rick Berman is a candid, raw, and visceral recounting of their collective experiences with Enterprise and Star Trek in general for the past 18 years. However, the real gem for this Blu-Ray set is the three-part "To Boldly Go - Launching Enterprise" documentary. I give this Blu-Ray set my highest recommendation solely on the merit of what I learned from "To Boldly Go", as it answered a great many questions that left fans in the dark about controversial choices that plagued the series from the start.

Warp Five 16: Misremembering Together

Season One Blu-rays.

When it was first announced that Enterprise would be released on Blu-ray, many fans wondered why Deep Space Nine or Voyager wasn't next. The answer, of course, was that Enterprise, having been shot in HD, didn't require the time-consuming restorations of the earlier series. So CBS could have easily pressed Blu-rays, thrown the discs into new packaging, and placed them on store shelves. Instead of taking the easy route, however, the studio went all in and produced some of the best extras found on any Star Trek release to date. Nearly ten years after the show left the air, the creation and production of Enterprise has remained a relative mystery. But that is no more. In this episode of Warp Five hosts Christopher Jones and Kate Walsh dive into the extensive special features found on the Season One Blu-ray set and discuss some of the challenges the producers faced in telling Star Trek's 22nd Century backstory.
